Shannon graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology from Brock University before attending the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy to earn her Massage Therapy diploma. Since 2009 she has worked as an RMT in a clinic setting, helping many people with the prevention and recovery of their sports injuries and work related aches and pains. Shannon believes that it is important to find and treat the source of peoples’ pain through hands on therapy, exercise and education. She has also worked at many sporting and corporate events providing post-race massages for runners, post-game massages for Rugby Canada and at-work massages for company employees.
Shannon continues to enhance her clinical skills by taking courses in sports massage, Soft Tissue Release and exercise prescription. In 2012 she joined the faculty at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. She is an instructor in the advanced massage skills and therapeutic exercise course. She is also a clinical supervisor in the student clinic.
Shannon enjoys watching and playing many sports and that is what led her into the career of massage therapy. She currently plays hockey in the winter and golf and ball hockey in the summer. She has run two half marathons and completed two duathlons.
