A physiotherapy treatment can include:
– Therapeutic exercises
– Manual therapy
– Electrical modalities such as TENS or ultrasound,
– Work hardening.
– Balance and gait retraining

Physiotherapists are graduates of a recognized university-based school of physiotherapy and are qualified to provide preventative, diagnostic and therapeutic services aimed at restoring function and preventing disability arising from disease, trauma or injury. With their applied knowledge and understanding of the human body in action, Physiotherapists are able to help you to increase your mobility, relieve pain, build strength and improve balance and cardiovascular function. Physiotherapists not only treat injuries, they also teach you how to prevent the onset of pain or injury that can limit your activity.

Orthopaedics is defined as the branch of medicine devoted to the study and treatment of the skeletal system, its joints, muscles and associated structures. Physiotherapists specializing in this field have extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology which is the basis for the assessment and treatment of orthopaedic problems.

Orthopaedic Physiotherapy commonly involves pain management, mobilization of soft tissue and joints and the selective stretching and strengthening of muscles. Gains in range of motion and strength are then applied to functional activity.

At TRCC we integrate the practice of physiotherapy as it relates to enhancing fitness. Our functional rehabilitation program involves the specific assessment of the physical function of your neuromuscular, and musculoskeletal systems.  We then put in place a plan that involves the treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of physical dysfunction (musculoskeletal weakness/injury, poor proprioceptive function, bone weakness/osteoporosis). Our goal is to relieve pain, promote mobility and health, teach independence through exercise and to develop, maintain, rehabilitate or augment function.

Welcoming Gordon Hill to the TRCC Team 💙As a Registered Massage Therapist and Certified Athletic Therapist, Gordon takes a hands-on and exercise-focused approach to helping people move and feel better. He enjoys working with a wide range of patients, with a particular interest in neck pain, postural concerns, and helping people recover from injuries and return to the activities they enjoy.Gordon believes hands-on therapy and exercise work best together. Manual therapy can help create a change in how the body feels and moves, while exercise helps build on and maintain those changes. He tailors this approach to each patient, taking into account their goals, preferences, and what works best for them. His goal is to give patients the knowledge, tools, and confidence they need to take an active role in their recovery. Whether that means getting through a day at the office with less discomfort, returning to exercise after an injury, or getting back to a favourite sport, he aims to make the recovery process as practical and achievable as possible.Gordon’s background in Athletic Therapy has given him experience assessing and rehabilitating musculoskeletal injuries in both clinical and athletic settings, including working with varsity, national-level, and professional athletes. He brings that same assessment and rehabilitation approach to patients of all activity levels.Outside of the clinic, Gordon enjoys spending time with his three-legged dog Nala and finding new activities for them to do together, especially things she enjoys like swimming. ...
